Achensee Schifffahrt – Postcard Series
A postcard commission born from a chance discovery: after coming across the Hoamage series, Achensee Schifffahrt reached out to create a set of keepsakes worthy of one of Tyrol's most beloved lakes — pieces passengers would actually want to take home.
The series spans four front designs and a unified back layout, each approaching the Achensee from a different visual angle. The vector illustration captures the iconic MS Tirol from a dramatic bird's-eye view, rendered in a flat graphic style that feels fresh while nodding to classic travel print design. The digital pixel illustration takes a warmer, more painterly route — the ship cutting through deep blue water at dusk, dense alpine forest flanking the shore, the scene glowing with a quiet, almost cinematic atmosphere.
The two photo-based designs bring a different kind of intimacy. One leans into the nostalgia of a held Polaroid, the handwritten "Liebe Grüße vom Achensee" giving it the feeling of something personal and found. The other presents the MS Tirol head-on in a bold editorial treatment. Fluid lines sweeping across a muted sky, the ship reflected perfectly in still water, the Achensee Schifffahrt logo anchoring the composition.
The shared back layout ties the series together: a nautical helm watermark, wavy divider, stamp field, and address lines — clean, purposeful, and unmistakably on brand.
Sold directly on board the ships, the postcards give guests something to carry the memory home.
